Not One But Two Hundred!
Not One But Twelve!
“Give a person a fish, they’ll eat for a day; teach them how to fish, and they’ll eat for a lifetime.”
Many tried and true maxims have survived the ages. This is one. Many of us believe it, live by it, and even make our giving decisions based upon it. But what about those individuals who aren’t given a fish or fishing lessons? What happens to them?
If you’re Sister Jane Mankaa and the Cameroonian Team you take the initiative to dig not one but twelve fish ponds by hand, talk to government fishery experts, begin to fill the ponds with fish, and get ready for bushels of fish to eat and market.
While the twelve acres of prime land on Ring Road in Bafut, Cameroon await the ground breaking for Good Shepherd Academy, our Cameroonian partners have wasted no time in putting it to good use. Yes, the fishery for Good Shepherd Academy is well on its way — conceived, paid for, and managed by our Cameroonian Team.

Not One But Two Hundred!
The many incredible accomplishments of Sister Jane Mankaa, our Cameroonian Team and Good Shepherd Home were recently recognized in a visit by the Governor of the North West Region of Cameroon.
“Yesterday was a great day for our children,” wrote Sister Jane. “The Governor of the North West Region visited our Home with an entourage of about 200 people. We have the best governor. God bless him and reward him for his love and concern for the poorest of the poor. He was very happy to see the children as you can see in these pictures. Sybele offered flowers and Nadine Salamatu sang the National Anthem. This is the latest news we have for you. God bless you all.”
