Good Shepherd Academy’s Championship Team

Good Shepherd Academy exceeded all expectations in the national competition “Agripreneur: Rebranding Our Nation,” held December 2023 through February 2024. The initiative focused on engaging the spirit of young Cameroonians in agricultural enterprises. Schools in all ten regions of Cameroon competed in project presentations, tests, cultural dance, and a fun eating competition.

GSA students presented a project on “Broiler Poultry Production.” They explained what it takes to grow chicks from one day to three weeks old and then fatten them for commercial purposes.

Our hard-working students presented the project’s cost for one thousand birds, the profit that can accrue, and its positive impact on the community and the environment. The judges were impressed!

Ten schools participated in the North West Regional Finals, with GSA securing a resounding second-place win. Then came the trip of a lifetime with our students traveling by bus to our capital, Yaoundé, the first time many of them had ever visited their capital city.

Twenty-four students and three teachers traveled by bus with me, as their principal, to compete in the national semi-finals. Seeing their eager faces and preparing for the big day was exciting! Once again, we were pleased to place second.

Then came the finals in Douala, our country’s economic capital. Of the fifty secondary schools that initially entered the competition, only ten made it to the finals, and we were among them!

It’s hard to describe the jubilation when Good Shepherd Academy, with the youngest participants from the youngest school, placed second in our nation.

This competition has broadened our students’ horizons in ways they never dreamed possible and filled them with the hope of a bright future.

For the first time ever, our students visited a zoo where they saw animals like tigers, crocodiles, apes, and snakes. They even got to ride a horse and visit a shopping mall, a brand-new experience for each of them! God has richly blessed us thanks to your support.

Thank you for giving us this unforgettable opportunity!

In gratitude,
