“Christian, our son from Good Shepherd, was chosen to be trained for the Cameroon National Football Team. Keep on moving mountains Good Shepherd!” – Sister Jane Mankaa, Founder of the Good Shepherd Home for Children, Cameroon
Christian is seen above shaking hands with the Cameroonian Minister of Sports. Change is in the air and good things are happening!
As fall approaches, we have much good news to share with you. First, we have surpassed our fundraising goal of $500,000 for 2014 with $740,000 raised to date. Yes, we are doing cartwheels (figuratively at least)! We are grateful to the many individuals, churches and foundations who have helped us realize our goal. We are now $447,000 away from breaking ground on Phase I in 2015, and feel confident that with your continued help, we will
MAKE IT HAPPEN!
We welcome new board member Molly Flewharty as Chief Financial Officer. We are truly grateful for her willingness to serve in this capacity. At the same time, we bid a fond farewell to Bertrand Delanney with deep appreciation for the countless hours he spent helping us with the myriad legal issues involved in setting up a 501C3 foundation here and a nonprofit in Cameroon. Bertrand is blessed to now be living 6 months a year in both Paris and Argentina and with just a twinge of jealousy we wish him well!
We are delighted to tell you that we have established a Leadership Council of people in diverse geographic areas with diverse skills who will act as Ambassadors for Good Shepherd Sustainable Learning Foundation. We are truly blessed to have them on board, ready to spread the word about all we are doing for the children of Cameroon and to help us network to reach as many people as possible. So welcome to the Good Shepherd family Justice Ignatius Ajuyo, Tammy Algood, Bill Clarkson, Dr. Lauren Doliva, Baxter Graham, John Ross, and Connie White!
