Educator and Author

Mr. Che Churchill was born in Bamenda, Cameroon. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Yaoundé in English Literature with a Maitrise or Mastery in African Literature. Following graduation, he traveled to China where he taught English Language in the New Oriental English School and the University of Xiangtan, both in the Hunan Province.

Churchill returned to Cameroon and enrolled in the University of Douala, Cameroon where he obtained a Master’s Degree in African Literature, specializing in Oral Literature. He is currently completing his PhD thesis at the University of Bamenda in English Literature where he serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. His research interest is in African Cultures and Development.

Principal Churchill has participated in numerous scholarly and pedagogic seminars where he acted as organizer, participant, and presenter. He has written and published articles on African cultures, the environment, and is currently writing an article on peace-building in societies. In addition he has  published poems in The Continental Anthology of Contemporary African Poetry (2022).

At the urging of Sister Jane Mankaa, in 2016 Mr. Churchill Che joined Good Shepherd Academy as founding Discipline Master and Faculty. He exceeded all expectations and was named as Principal of Good Shepherd Academy by Good Shepherd Academy Association and Good Shepherd Sustainable Learning Foundation in 2020. In addition to serving as Principal, he teaches English Language and Literature in English, as well as African Culture.
