Tears of Joy
“Woooooo! I am overjoyed at what I am seeing! The children are in bed but I want to go and get them up. I don’t think I will be able to sleep this night. My dear, the plans for Good Shepherd Academy are GREAT. I have no words to express what I am seeing…God bless you. God bless all of our donors. I am in tears of joy…,” wrote Sister Jane.
Seeing the architectural rendering of the school she had longed for and dreamed of for so many years was an answer to prayer for Sr. Jane Mankaa of Good Shepherd Home in Cameroon – an answer that filled her with joy overflowing and sent her straight to her computer to email us her words of gratitude.
Along with Sr. Jane and the Cameroonian Team, Good Shepherd Sustainable Learning Foundation is delighted to announce that we have hired the non-profit architectural firm MSAADA to design, build, and supervise all aspects of the construction of Good Shepherd Academy in Bafut, Cameroon. Working with founder Poul Bertelsen, we are seeing THEIR DREAM, OUR MISSION come to life!
Poul Bertelsen is a missionary architect with offices in Minnesota, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, India and Haiti. He has built over 900 schools, hospitals, orphanages and churches in developing nations over the last 30 years. Today we are thrilled to unveil the Birdseye Perspective of the Good Shepherd Academy, a co-ed residential secondary/high school for 400 students. The school will be built in 3 phases, which are color coded above. We are well on our way to being able to break ground next year on Phase 1!
Thank you for your support, care, and love for the children of Cameroon. Together, we are MAKING IT HAPPEN!
