One sunny afternoon, seventeen years ago, the first baby arrived at Good Shepherd Home in Cameroon. Today, that baby, Awasum Benedict, is among the first graduates of Good Shepherd Academy!
Sister Jane Mankaa’s long-held dream of not only loving, housing, and feeding her children, but also educating them for today’s world has at last come to fruition. We can feel her joy and pride now. And what a blessed joy it is.
Thanks to you, Benedict and his nine fellow graduates are all embarking on university studies in Cameroon, well-prepared for what lies ahead. Thanks to two generous donors who donated our computer lab, Benedict plans to major in Computer Engineering.
To graduate from high school in Cameroon, students must sit for their A level exams. All ten of our students succeeded with flying colors, giving Good Shepherd Academy a 100% pass rate. Congratulations to each one of them.
And there’s more! One of our students, Mbelika Malvin Musi, stood tall among his classmates. He came in the national 4th position, scoring 22 out of 25 points, which is the highest any student can obtain on this examination.
All of our graduates have been well groomed to face the academic, social, and other challenges that students who graduate from high school face in Cameroon, and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
Here’s to Sister Jane Mankaa’s vision and to all of you who make it happen!
